A car in Peri Road was damaged but not stolen when patrollers came searching for a suspicious vehicle that had been seen. The white Toyota hatchback had been seen on Monday night 22 August doing a U-turn in the upper section of Clovelly and then turning to the lower section. [...] A woman in her 70s was attempting a transaction at the Standard Bank ATM at the Checkers Centre in Muizenberg on Wednesday 4 May at about 3pm when she was approached by two men who managed to swop her card. Later,she found that R10 000 had been withdrawn from her account various ATMs. [...] Not content with stealing cellphones or cash,thieves are again turning to that expensive commodity,petrol. [...] A yellow Yamaha,stolen in Strand,was found in Clovelly. For a couple of days it was ignored because each of two neighbours –one who has a similar motorbike and one whose friends have motorbikes –assumed the bike had something to do with the other neighbour. [...] We had a few weeks’bliss after the two car thieves were arrested in Clovelly last month,with the odd car being stolen here and there. But no more. Five vehicles stolen in the past week,plus a couple of attempted thefts.
